The domestic robot revolution: where do you stand?
My first mobile phone was the classic Nokia brick. I loved it. I’ve never been an early tech adopter, but I was definitely in the first wave. That old brick with the sticky buttons has since evolved into the smartphones now glued to just about everyone’s fingers: the tool that navigates, dates, and documents all our lives.
Technological shifts often begin quietly. Then they become irreversible.
Now, we’re told the next leap is coming: robots in the home. Not just vacuums or smart speakers, but full humanoid robots that can walk, carry things, fold laundry—and eventually cook dinner or even provide care.
Some predict they’ll arrive as early as 2028. The companies behind them are calling it an “iPhone moment” for robotics - one of those rare shifts that could completely reshape how we live.
So this week’s poll is a show of hands:
How do you feel about the idea of a robot in your home?
This poll is open to everyone and has no time limit. Its purpose is to spark conversation, so feel free to share. Thanks for taking part!
